Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours)
Salary: Grade 7, $13.79/hour
Performs a variety of general accounting support and clerical duties, recordkeeping, and PC related routines, including but not limited to: inputs vendor invoices; generates and mails account payable checks; handles vendor phone calls and researches vendor questions/payments; posts and reviews accounts payable journal entries; assists with processing payment requisitions and purchase orders; works closely with internal departments to resolve purchasing and accounts payable questions; generates and verifies a variety of fiscal expense and budget reports; assists with maintaining the vendor master file; assists with payroll processing; filing and recordkeeping; collects and deposits monies; answers departmental phones; processes and distributes departmental mail; operates a variety of standard office machinery; orders and maintains office supplies; assists departmental visitors; completes other duties as assigned.
PC experience with Windows operating system; experience with Microsoft Office suite especially Excel and Word; proficient with a 10-key adding machine; ability to work well with others; ability to handle confidential information; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience with business writing and correspondence; strong attention to detail; ability to organize and maintain records and files with a high level of accuracy; ability to think independently and make decisions; knowledge of standard office procedures and business practices; two years college with business coursework or equivalent accounting/ accounts payable experience preferred; previous customer service experience required; experience with accounting and payroll software is a plus.
